Winnipeg All Sections Rally 2018 - Rally Rules

• All vehicles must be new from this Scouting year raced by a youth in full uniform.

• All vehicles will pass through inspection by the race-official pit crew at time of registration.

• No oil or wet lubricants are allowed (to prevent damage to the wheels and tracks). Dry graphite may be used.

BEAVERS:

1) Have fun!

2) No weights are to be added to Beaver Buggies.

3) Decorations should not extend past the front or rear of the buggy body provided in the kit, or beyond the outside of the wheels.

CUBS / VENTURERS / ADULTS:

1) Have fun!

2) Standard Kub Kar Specifications:

WEIGHT: Total weight shall not exceed 142.0g.

No loose materials of any kind are permitted in the Kar. The Kar may be hollowed out or built up to the maximum weight.

Any weights must be securely attached to the body or chassis.

A Cub whose Kar is too heavy may ask the pit crew to remove some material to reduce the weight. Pit crew can also be

asked to secure other weights supplied by the Cub to the car if it is too light.

LENGTH: Overall length shall not exceed 7 inches (17.8cm) including all accessories and details.

WIDTH: Overall width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches (7cm), including wheels, fenders, and any other accessories.

The minimum distance between wheels must remain at the standard Kub Kar block width of 1 3/4 inch (4.5cm) to ensure

the Kar fits over the track race strip.

CLEARANCE: Kub Kar chassis must not be lowered below 3/8 inch (.95cm).

Failure to ensure this may result in the bottom of the Kar dragging on the track race strip.

FRONT BUMPER: Due to the starting mechanism used on the tracks, the front of the Kub Kar must have a flat centered horizontal

surface, no less than 1 inch (25.4cm) in length and no greater than 5/8 inch (1.6cm) off the track.

WHEELS AND AXLES: Only axles and wheels provided for Scouts Canada Kub Kar kits can be used.

Wheels and axles may be lightly sanded to remove burrs and casting tracks.

The wheels are not to be modified, lightened, or filled with additional weight.

The riding surface of the wheels are not to be painted or polished.

WHEEL BEARINGS: Bearings, washers and bushings are PROHIBITED.

SPRINGING: Kub Kars shall not ride on any type of springs.

The Kub Kar must be freewheeling with no starting device or other propulsion.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: Wood supplied from the kit must be the basis of the construction.

Additional wood, metal or plastic can be added for body parts, fenders, side pipes, running boards, or any other accessories

desired by the builder. Details such as steering wheel, interior, driver, painting and decals are permissible.

All accessories and details must be securely attached, and will be included in the Kar weight.

SCOUTS:

1) Have fun!

2) Standard 18 Wheeler Specifications:

WEIGHT: Total weight of cab and trailer combined shall not exceed 700g.

No loose materials are permitted and any weights must be securely attached.

LENGTH: Overall length shall not exceed 17-1/2 inches (44.5cm) including cab, trailer and all accessories.

WIDTH: Overall width shall not exceed 3-3/4 inches (9.5cm), including wheels, fenders, and any other accessories.

The minimum distance between wheels must remain at the supplied block width of 1 3/4 inch (4.5cm) to ensure the truck

fits over the track race strip.

CLEARANCE: Cab and trailer chassis must not be lowered below 3/8 inch (.95cm) to prevent the bottom from dragging on the track race

strip.

no less than 1 inch (25.4 cm) in length and no greater than 5/8 inch (1.6 cm) off the track.
